KREATOR - Krushers Of The World (Official Music Video) | New Thrash Metal Album 2026 (2026)

Get ready to witness the apocalypse—at least, the one KREATOR envisions in their latest music video. But here's where it gets controversial: Is their new album, Krushers Of The World, a grim prophecy or a call to action? The German/Finnish/French thrash metal legends have just dropped the title track's video, set in a post-apocalyptic Berlin, and it’s as haunting as it is visually stunning. The world they portray feels eerily close to reality, making the themes hit harder than ever.

Released today (January 16) via Nuclear Blast Records, the album marks KREATOR’s sixteenth studio effort. Recorded at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden, with producer Jens Bogren, the LP is a testament to the band’s relentless creativity. Bogren, who also produced Phantom Antichrist (2012) and Gods Of Violence (2017), brought his A-game, as guitarist/vocalist Mille Petrozza revealed in a recent interview with Sweden’s Rockpodden podcast. Mille shared, ‘I’m happy with the way it came out. It took me a while to write it, but I think we’ve got a nice variety of interesting music and poetry.’

And this is the part most people miss: The album’s sonic brilliance isn’t just about talent—it’s about preparation and chemistry. Mille credited the band’s meticulousness and Bogren’s dedication, saying, ‘He really put his heart and soul into this production.’ The entire album was recorded in Sweden, with the band staying on-site for weeks, immersing themselves in the creative process. Mille described Fascination Street Studios as ‘Disneyland for metalheads,’ where mastering, mixing, and recording happen under one roof, surrounded by fellow metal enthusiasts.

But what keeps KREATOR from sounding repetitive after all these years? Mille’s answer is both simple and profound: ‘You have to question yourself all the time. You have to be very self-critical with your own art.’ He spent over a year in pre-production, writing and rewriting songs, ensuring every track felt fresh. ‘This process gave the album time to grow,’ he explained. The result? A ‘pot-pourri of creativity and passion’ that’s both raw and refined.

Here’s where it gets even more intriguing: Mille isn’t afraid to challenge his own ideas—or those of others. When asked about working with Bogren, he admitted, ‘Sometimes we don’t like his suggestions, but everything we question is for the better.’ This openness to criticism, combined with a refusal to let egos dictate the music, is what makes KREATOR’s sound so enduring.

Looking ahead, Mille is confident there’s more music to come. ‘I think I have at least five more albums in me,’ he said, though he’s quick to add, ‘You never know. But I’m open for whatever happens.’ His optimism shines through on Krushers Of The World, an album that balances darkness with ‘very positive energy.’

The band will hit the road in 2026 for a massive European tour, joined by CARCASS, EXODUS, and NAILS. Before that, they’ll conquer the U.S. this spring, with stops at festivals like Welcome To Rockville and Maryland Deathfest.

The album’s cover art, designed by Polish artist Zbigniew Bielak (known for his work with GHOST), is a masterpiece in itself. Bielak reimagined KREATOR’s classic visual trademarks, blending occult symbolism with nods to albums like Coma Of Souls (1990) and Pleasure To Kill. It’s a tribute to the band’s legacy, but with a bold, modern twist.

Now, here’s the question: Does Krushers Of The World mark a new era for KREATOR, or is it a culmination of their decades-long journey? Let us know in the comments—and while you’re at it, tell us your favorite track from the album.
